Proxy (for web downloads)

June 2023: You no longer need to use the proxy – it is no longer available.

The login nodes have access to the outside world – you can download small datasets / source code repositories (e.g., from github) on these nodes.

For larger dataset downloads, please do so from a batch job or use an interactive session by running srun -p interactive -t 0-1 --pty bash (a 1 hour session.) Batch jobs and interactive sessions run on backend compute nodes.

You DO NOT need to load the proxy modulefiles (it will do nothing if you do.)

If your applications have their own local settings to use the proxy, you should update those settings to remove any mention of the proxy.
