Paraview
Overview
ParaView is an open-source, multi-platform data analysis and visualization application.
A binary installation of version 4.1.0 is installed. This is for interactive use on the iCSF.
We NO LONGER recommend using Paraview on the iCSF and will not be installing any further versions. It will be removed in future. Instead, you should use a pvserver job on the CSF (not iCSF), which allows you to use a copy of the paraview GUI installed locally on your PC or laptop, yet keep the data on the CSF and visualize very large datasets without needing to download the data. This method is much more responsive (faster) than using the paraview GUI directly on the iCSF and works well even when working from home over slower broadband. Please do not ask for updates to paraview on the iCSF – use the CSF instead! |
Restrictions on user access
There are no restrictions on accessing Paraview.
Set up procedure
It is recommended you use the nyx5,6,7 virtual desktop to access the iCSF. Then, once logged in to iCSF, load the modulefile:
module load apps/binapps/paraview/4.1.0

.
