Logging in

Make sure you have followed the Setup Guide appropriate to your operating system.

The login credentials for the service are your official IT username and password.

From Linux

You may or may not have a desktop icon. If not run /usr/NX/bin/nxclient & in a terminal. Log in when prompted.

From Windows

You should have a NoMachine icon on your desktop labelled nyx-its if you followed the naming convention of the Setup Guide. Log in when promopted.

From a Mac

Run the NoMachine Player application, select your configured session, called ‘nyx-its’ if you followed the naming convention in the Setup Guide, and follow the login prompts.

Ending your session

Terminate

To completely terminate your remote session, which will kill any applications you have running either:

  • Select System > Log out username from the menu at the top of the screen OR
  • Click your username in the top right corner and select Quit OR
  • Hit the [X] in the top right hand corner and select Terminate

Disconnect

If you simply wish to disconnect your client from nyx, leave your applications running and reconnect later to the same session (e.g., stop using your desktop PC, go home and carry on from where you left off using your laptop):

  • Hit the [X] in the top right hand corner. Select Disconnect (windows) OR Suspend (Linux/Mac).
