But all users must monitor and manage their own scratch usage – do not simply rely on the scratch-tidy to do it for you!<\/strong><\/p>\n There is NO backup<\/strong> of the scratch area. If you, or the automatic clean-up, deletes files, they are gone forever!<\/p>\n Ensure you copy important results back to your home<\/em> area or additional research data storage<\/em> – these areas are<\/em> backed up. Please read the pages in this section for more information.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n There are several filesystems<\/em> on the CSF. They provide you with storage for you files and directories<\/em> (also known as “folders”), and have different properties. For example, some storage is faster (to read from and write to) than others. Some storage is backed up.
