However, we advise users to check the University <a href=\"https:\/\/www.staffnet.manchester.ac.uk\/export-controls-info\/\">Export Control resources<\/a> before working from abroad. In particular, a Frequently Asked Question is available on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.staffnet.manchester.ac.uk\/export-controls-info\/collaborators-funders\/remote-working-remote-collaborators\/\">Remote Working<\/a> with regard to export controls.  <\/p>\n<h2>Logging Out<\/h2>\n<p>Once you have finished using the system you should logout (so as not to waste system resources and also for security reasons). Note that you do not need to be logged in for your jobs to run once you have submitted them to the <a href=\"\/csf3\/batch\/\">batch system<\/a>. You can log out by using either of the following commands:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><code>logout<\/code><\/li>\n<li><code>exit <\/code><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Access to External Websites and Repositories from the CSF<\/h2>\n<p>It is not possible to <em>directly<\/em> access computers which are off-campus <em>from<\/em> the CSF login nodes.<\/p>\n<p>Batch jobs and interactive jobs (both of which run on back-end compute nodes) can access off-campus web-sites <em>from<\/em> the CSF (e.g., to download a dataset).<\/p>\n<h2>VS Code &#8211; SSH login<\/h2>\n<p>Please see our <a href=\"\/csf3\/software\/tools\/vscode\/\">VSCode page<\/a> for details on how to install the Remote SSH extension in VSCode on your PC\/laptop to allow it to login to the CSF.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The CSF (Slurm) cluster is now available using the address: csf3.itservices.manchester.ac.uk Use your UoM IT username (not email) and IT password (the same as used for many UoM services).
