Overview
GNU Autoconf is a tool for producing configure scripts for building, installing and packaging software.
Two versions are available on the CSF: 2.63 and 2.68.
Restrictions on use
There are no access restrictions as it is free software.
Set up procedure
2.63
This is in the default user PATH so you need not change anything in your environment.
2.68
You must load the module: module load tools/gcc/autoconf/2.68.
Running the application
autoconf is typically used by configure scripts during software installs. It can also be accessed from the command line.
It is not typically used in batch.

Version 2.63 is part of the operating system install, it was upgraded from 2.59 during the August 2012 OS upgrade.
Version 2.68 was installed in March 2011.
