evince (pdf viewer)

Overview

Evince is a document viewer for multiple document formats including PDF. Version 0.6.0 is available on the CSF.

Restrictions on use

There are no restrictions on access to the software.

Set up procedure

This is a GUI application. You will need to connect to the CSF using ssh -X to have the display exported to your local machine.

Further information about how to start X-Windows and GUI applications on the CSF.

You do not need to load a module or edit your environment.

Running the application

At the command line type: evince and then in the ‘File’ menu click ‘Open’ and navigate to the document you wish to view.

Alternatively you can open a document directly by specifying the path after the command. For example:

evince /opt/gridware/apps/binapps/vmd/1.8.7/vmd/doc/ug.pdf
